Beneficiation plant process of iron ore and beneficiation equipments in India

Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted. The ores are usually rich in iron oxides and vary in color from dark grey, bright yellow, deep purple, to rusty red. The iron itself is usually found in the form of magnetite (Fe3O4, 72.4% Fe), hematite (Fe2O3, 69.9% Fe), goethite (FeO(OH), 62.9% Fe), limonite (FeO(OH).n(H2O)) or siderite (FeCO3, 48.2% Fe).

Our country mineral processing factory general uses rough broken, medium crushing and fine broken of three section broken process to break the iron ore.
 
Rough broken mainly uses 1.2m or 1.5m gyratory crusher, medium broken uses 2.1m or 2.2 m standard cone type crusher,fine broken uses 2.1m or 2.2 m short head cone type crusher. Through coarse broken ore, the block degree is no more than 1m, and then through middle and fine crushing, the final product with ore particle size less than 12mm is sent to the grinding groove.

(a) ore crushing

(b) grinding process
 
Iron ore grinding process, most uses two stage grinding process, the small and medium sized ore dressing plant mostly uses a section of grinding process. Due to the adoption of fine screening and regrinding process in recent years, some concentrator plants have change two section into three segments grinding. The grinding equipment used is generally small, the maximum ball mill 3.6m * 6m, the maximum rod mill 3.2m * 4.5m, the maximum self mill 5.5m * 1.8m, gravel mill 2.7m * 3.6m.
 
After grinding, the grading basically use the spiral classifier. In order to improve the efficiency, part of beneficiation plants use hydrocyclone to replace the two spiral classifier.
 
(c) beneficiation technology
 
1. magnetite ore dressing
 
Due to the magnetic properties of ore, good grinding, domestic magnetic separation plants are used in the process of grinding, for the use of coarse grained magnetite (one section of grinding), fine particles, fine particles embedded in the latter (two or three grinding).
 
2. weak magnetic iron ore dressing
 
Mainly used to choose don't hematite, limonite, hematite, siderite, illusion hematite or mixed ore is the so-called red ore. This kind of ore grade is low, the size of the block is fine, the mineral composition is complex, so it is difficult to choose.

3. metal raw ore dressing
 
This type of ore composition is complex, the type is diverse, so the method, equipment and process are also different, some iron ore plant uses reverse flotation, multi gradient magnetic separation, flocculation flotation, weak magnetic reverse flotation magnetic separation, magnetic separation, roasting magnetic separation and other processes, to improve the iron recovery rate, and comprehensive recovery of rare earth oxide.
